Every year my mother has a Christmas party, this drink is always on the menu. It is definitely a crowd pleaser. Granted her version is not spiked, this spiked version will be the talk of any holiday party! You can also make this recipe without alcohol as a fun and delicious family drink.
Spiked Eggnog
Ingredients
- 2 ounces Bourbon
- 2 ounces Cognac
- 4 Small Scoops of Ice Cream (2 Per Drink or to taste)
- 3 Dashes of Cinnamon
- 2 Dashes of Nutmeg
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks
- 2 cups of Eggnog
- 1 cup of whipped heavy whipping cream (optional can sub for milk, or additional eggnog)
Directions
- If you are using heavy whipping cream, start with cold heavy cream. Just know the colder the cream, the easier and more successful it will whip. Cold cream also creates the lightest whipped cream.
- Pour eggnog and whipped cream into a large cup or shaker and mix.
- Add bourbon, cognac, 3 dashes of cinnamon, and mix.
- Add 2 ice cream scoops to each cup and pour eggnog mix over ice cream
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a dash of nutmeg on top.
