Ole Smoky Distillery can be a really fun place to eat, drink and hangout, especially on warm weather days. This establishment features a variety of dining and entertainment options, including a variety of bars, a whiskey and beer garden, a dining room, and a variety of souvenir shops. Its live entertainment and large-screen televisions are also available. Guests can also enjoy beverages and snacks by the glass. Now, I am going to be honest, you may not see many of us, Black folks, there but this place is amazing for large groups. If you have a large group that wants to get out to enjoy small bites, games, and drinks, this is a dope spot for a chill gathering. Parking sucks and is a little expensive but there are plenty of parking lots that may have reasonable pricing within walking distance. If you are in town visiting it is in…

My mom bought my brother and I a Briggs and Riley suitcase for Christmas a couple years back, and it’s legit the best suitcase ever. Some people believe that luggage brand Briggs & Riley is the best for frequent travelers. However, is this really true? I am going to list out the pros and cons, and also why it is considered the best suitcase brand. For reference, I have a carry on but this is like a powerhouse of a carry on. Despite being a phenomenal packer, I have packed enough for a week or more in this carry on. With tons of room and a light weight design this by far has been the best bag I have ever owned. On a website called CleverJourney they listed out the Best Luggage Brands including Briggs & Riley, TravelPro, Samsonite, Tumi and more. They ranked each brand in 8 categories including…

As a Black influencer who posts about things to do, mostly in Nashville, I have noticed I don’t receive many collaborations, or even “thank you’s” from businesses. Whether I have posted about that business or not. The only people who ever want to collaborate with me are Black or ethnic. Only once have I have worked with a company that is not Black owned. Whim App, might not be Black owned but focuses on diverse voices that are hyper local, so, I was a great fit for them. I have gone out of my way to not give negative feedback about spaces and just talk about the facts, so that people can decide for themselves. That will now end. I am here to showcase life in this world especially Nashville, where I live, as a Black person. And, my content is never for businesses it is for my followers. I am…

The flexitarian diet is a low-calorie, high-protein diet that allows you to enjoy meat occasionally. It’s also very strict and doesn’t involve counting calories. The term flexitarian diet refers to a combination of the terms vegetarian and vegan. It’s a diet that allows people to enjoy animal products on a regular basis. The goal of the flexitarian diet is to maintain a healthy lifestyle while eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, and nuts. However, you can still enjoy meat occasionally. If you’re not a huge fan of vegetarianism but still want to eat meat occasionally, then the flexitarian diet might be just what you need. It does reduce your overall consumption, though. The flexitarian diet is very flexible, and there are various guidelines that apply to the amount of meat that you should be eating. For instance, if you’re planning on following this diet for a long time, you might…

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder that affects around 5 to 10% of women of reproductive age. Though the cause is unknown, it is suggested to be a combination of genetic and environmental factors. PCOS has been linked to insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is when your body doesn’t respond to insulin as it should. Insulin is a hormone that helps your body turn sugar into energy. If your body is resistant to insulin, it makes more insulin to try to get the sugar into your cells. Although there are many signs and symptoms we all know, excessive hair growth, weight gain, and irregular periods, there are a number of symptoms people don’t talk about. This is based on 3 reddit threads about PCOS symptoms. This is not a list based on science, studies or medical professionals but simply a list that people who experience PCOS have noticed.…

This chicken taco recipe is one of the easiest recipes I know. Plus, who doesn’t love tacos!!! This recipe can be adjusted to be low sodium by substituting the chicken broth for low sodium chicken broth, veggie broth, or even water (less flavorful) and using salt-free taco seasoning. It is still delicious this way. Did I mention that it is PCOS friendly recipe? Oh yeah, it is! It is a hit every time I make it for large groups.

What is your favorite morning drink? Nashville has some amazing coffee shops and cafes. If you are like me and work from home it is nice to get out the house and work from a new space even for couple hours. I have been drinking coffee since I can remember, although when I was a kid it was mostly milk I loved the activity of it. Having a good cup of matcha or coffee just sets the tone for the day. If you are tired of going to the chain coffee shops such as Starbucks, there are a ton of places you can try locally that you can also work from. Some of these places are Black owned, some have patios, some have beautiful aesthetics. Sweetwaters Cafe (Lennox Village) Funny Library (Virgin Hotel) All People (East Nashville) Poindexter (Graduate Hotel) Bongo Java (Multiple locations) Frothy Monkey (multiple locations) Crema (Two…

Ainsworth has been in Nashville at least 7 years and has cemented itself into the culture of the city. Located in what they are now calling Aertson Midtown on 21st Ave S. near Vanderbilt University. It is one of three locations in the US including Hoboken and Chelsea. Ainsworth is perfect if you are looking for a restaurant with aesthetic and the vibes. Their decor does a fantastic job of showcasing personality that is often lacking in Nashville restaurants. You walk into the restaurant through an archway covered in faux plants and lights making you feel as though you are walking into a new city. Although The Ainsworth is not my favorite restaurant, I don’t mind going whenever someone else suggests we go. Despite having impressive menu items including gold covered chicken wings (which they no longer have on their menu), mac & cheese burger and $15 bottles of champagne…
