Southside Grill is a Nashville classic. Nestled in the Lennox Village area this restaurant has a long history of serving amazing food. This scratch kitchen serves everything from blackened salmon to amazing lamb chops. And, if you love Darfons, this restaurant is owned by the same family. They provide excellent service, amazing food and even better ambiance. If you are in the area and hungry for brunch, they serve brunch on the weekends and dinner Tuesday, through Sunday. They also have a happy hour with $7 martini’s on Friday. The bartenders do not hold back on the martini’s! Black People Like to Hike Too, Start Right Now

One of the things I hate is when you tell a Black person you are going hiking and they respond with, “Oh you like doing white people shit.” Honestly, it’s a little funny but on the other end I know there is no ubiquitous way to being Black. Despite exploring particular music, cities, or even activities are typically seen as Black, how are they any less Black? While being Black is one of my absolute favorite things to be, I love being around Black folks who are cultured. Black folks who have expanded their concepts of life. For instances, I have a friend who doesn’t seem like she knows the ratchetest (hood) songs and likely makes well over 6 figures a year but she knows ALL of it. She knows the hood rap songs, the r&b and the pop hits. She likes chicken wings at midnight but also fine dining.…

Ole Smoky Distillery can be a really fun place to eat, drink and hangout, especially on warm weather days. This establishment features a variety of dining and entertainment options, including a variety of bars, a whiskey and beer garden, a dining room, and a variety of souvenir shops. Its live entertainment and large-screen televisions are also available. Guests can also enjoy beverages and snacks by the glass. Now, I am going to be honest, you may not see many of us, Black folks, there but this place is amazing for large groups. If you have a large group that wants to get out to enjoy small bites, games, and drinks, this is a dope spot for a chill gathering. My mom bought my brother and I a Briggs and Riley suitcase for Christmas a couple years back, and it’s legit the best suitcase ever. Some people believe that luggage brand Briggs & Riley is the best for frequent travelers. However, is this really true? I am going to list out the pros and cons, and also why it is considered the best suitcase brand. For reference, I have a carry on but this is like a powerhouse of a carry on. If you are like me and work from home it is nice to get out the house and work from a new space even for couple hours. Ainsworth is a Restaurant with an Aesthetic You’ll Love

Ainsworth has been in Nashville at least 7 years and has cemented itself into the culture of the city. Located in what they are now calling Aertson Midtown on 21st Ave S. near Vanderbilt University. It is one of three locations in the US including Hoboken and Chelsea. Ainsworth is perfect if you are looking for a restaurant with aesthetic and the vibes. Their decor does a fantastic job of showcasing personality that is often lacking in Nashville restaurants. You walk into the restaurant through an archway covered in faux plants and lights making you feel as though you are walking into a new city. Although The Ainsworth is not my favorite restaurant, I don’t mind going whenever someone else suggests we go.
